The Kirov class is a class of nuclear-powered guided missile cruisers of the Soviet Navy and Russian Navy, the largest and heaviest surface combatant warships (not including aircraft carrier or amphibious assault ship) in operation in the world. Among modern warships, they are second in size only to large aircraft carriers, and of similar size to a World War I era battleship.

The Soviet classification of the ship-type is "heavy nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser". The ships are often referred to as battlecruisers by Western commentators due to their size and general appearance.

The Admiral Gorshkov class, Russian designation Project 22350 is the newest class of frigates being built for the Russian Navy. Admiral Gorshkov Class were designed to fully replace the older Neustrashimyy and Krivak class Frigates in all Russian Fleets.

Unlike its predecessors in the Soviet-era, the class of ships were designed as multi-purpose surface vessels. They are capable to execute long-range strikes, conduct anti-submarine warfare and to carry out escort missions.
